Our YWCA-MC December event “Lighting of the Candelarias”, public displays of lighted candelarias (the traditional paper bags weighted by sand and lit by LED lights) created by our clients, children and adults who have survived domestic violence. We honor them for finding a path out of the darkness to a new life filled with light. YWCA-MC will set up the candelarias in a designated space at various venues and also provide tables and staff to collect donations for our Domestic Violence Services. Planned locations are Salinas City Center during First Friday (5:00 – 9:00 pm) and King City Christmas Parade at the Town Square (6:00 – 8:00 pm) December 6. Please check our December Event page for more YWCA-MC December events.
