Standing in Solidarity Town Hall

Standing in Solidarity Town Hall

YWCA Monterey County attended the Standing in Solidarity town hall hosted by YWCA Greater Los Angeles.

During this event, YWCA GLA convened with national activists and leaders from other YWCA local associations to discuss strategies for women’s empowerment and fighting systemic racism. Offices across the state are looking into ways that they can incorporate racial justice into their charitable efforts as well as incorporating training and dialogue into their daily schedule. Standing in Solidarity town hall helped us bring out the details. from multiple perspectives.

There are many facets to the disparities between races in our country. Each local association must adapt to their specific location and its needs in order to support the issues that are most pressing to their communities, regardless of whether that is fighting economic fallout, red lining, police brutality, or providing mental health services and supporting advocates. Now is the time for action.
