YWCA Monterey County has worked to build a stronger community by advocating for peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all since 1972.

YWCA MONTEREY COUNTY continues to respond to the ever-changing needs of our diverse community.

YWCA MONTEREY COUNTY’s response to victims of domestic abuse in the county now includes a greater coordinated community response.

YWCA MONTEREY COUNTY’S aim is to ensure a whole-system approach to service provision built on a foundation of collaboration between partner agencies.

YWCA MONTEREY COUNTY’S vision is to lead the way in effectively connecting referral pathways between agencies and building an improved understanding of the causes, risk factors and scale of domestic abuse in Monterey County.

Capacity building provides participants with opportunities to strengthen individual skills and organizations, as well as build the collaborative relationships that are key to achieving a greater impact in the prevention & intervention of Domestic Abuse.

Domestic Abuse

  • 40-Hour Domestic Violence Advocate Training
    Completion of this training meets the requirements set by California Evidence Code 1037.1 for designation as a Domestic Violence Counselor.

  • Safe Dates
    Focuses on teen dating violence and domestic violence prevention for high school youth.

    Prevention education curriculum for middle school youth.
