Our Volunteer Scope
Our program offers volunteer and internship opportunities for students, community members, or any individual who has an interest in working with us. All volunteers must meet our requirements previous to being assigned. In collaboration with colleges and universities in the area, we help prepare and expose individuals to the health and human services field.
We are always in need of volunteers for outreach events to represent the YWCA in our community. We encourage individuals who volunteer with us to be innovative and creative to suggest new ways to provide services to our clients.
Through our 40-hour Domestic Violence Advocate Training offered three times per year we prepare and educate participants to become knowledgeable to assist the community we serve. Keep abreast of our Facebook and our events calendar to learn about upcoming training opportunities.
We collect donations for our client’s needs. Clothes, hygiene products, purses, baby and child clothing and products, shoes, and interview and professional wear all go a long way in our Safehouses.
Contributions in way of services are needed at differing times in the year. Previous service donations have included videography, photography, and donated meeting space for training and classes.
