Substance Use Disorder 101

substance use disorder

Last week Sun Street Centers, who have been providing comprehensive and effective services for education, prevention and recovery of alcohol addiction and drug abuse since 1968 in Salinas.

Sun Street Centers delivered an informative presentation to the YWCA-MC staff on Substance Use Disorder 101 and the intersectionality between Substance Use and Domestic Violence. Bob Brunson, MS, LMFT, Clinical Director, lead a panel of clinicians who shared stories of recovery and hope and offered to mentor and support YWCA-MC staff as we seek to engage with more client groups in our services. Comments from staff afterwards included appreciation for the clinicians taking direct questions and offering evidence -based answers based on years of practical experience. We hope to reciprocate the generosity of time and spirit Sun Street offered by a follow up presentation to their staff on Domestic Violence 101.
